Codi Terwiske: Alpha Phi

Picture
Hi, my name is Codi Terwiske and I am an Alpha Phi at Indiana University Southeast and I currently am the Vice President of Chapter Operations. When I came to IUS in the fall of 2011, I never imagined joining a sorority. Well little did I know, joining a sorority would change my life forever and quickly become the best decision I have ever made. My two roommates and I instantly clicked. One of my two roommates decided to rush in the fall and ended up falling in love with Alpha Phi. My other roommate and I quickly became sad because she was going to all these events and activities while we didn’t have anything to do. Eventually, we started tagging along with her and realized that these girls are extremely fun and were so welcoming even though we weren’t Alpha Phis yet. In the spring of 2012, they asked us to be Alpha Phis too through a process called continuous open bidding. In the beginning I didn’t realize how much this group of girls would mean to me, but now I’m not just a part of it, it is a part of me. Alpha Phi has taught so many concepts of life. It has taught me how to be a better person, leader, friend, and sister. This sorority has made my college experience the best experience I have ever had. Without my sisters I would not have gotten through the many hardships that life throws at you, especially the loss of my brother. Your sisters quickly become not just friends that you hang out with every now and then, they really become someone you can confide in, someone that is there for you through the worst moments of your life and still love you for it. They truly become your family. I hope that every girl that reads this will be open to giving sorority life a chance because I can promise you that you will not regret it.
